My Female Nepenthes Tenuis and her Future Mate

Hello all. Just thought you all would enjoy some pics of My 2 Nepenthes Tenuis plants. One is a definite Female and the other is Un known I'm sure the other one is a male Though as its from Tissue Culture. Seems that most everything from TC comes out a Boy.

I'll be keeping everyone here posted when I breed these 2 together and have some pure Tenuis species seed available.

Awesome stuff, Mike! Good luck on any crosses.

Very fun! I like the pitcher shape and they look very healthy as well.

Thanks Matt. I'll probably be keeping this species a pure one for a while till I can distribute pure species seed more to others here.

When I do make some Tenuis seed, I'll be giving everyone up here seed who wants some. I was kinda thinking of pollinating the single Tenuis female flower with some Truncata x Veitchii H/L pollen though just to experiment with. Would be interesting to see how the first known Tenuis Hybrid turns out.
I'm a bit worried though if I pollinated her that it may stress her out some, slowing her growth and rooting down some. Its funny to, shes like on her 5th leaf, going on 6th since I received her as an un rooted cutting.

Thanks Josh. Yes. Its definitely one of my Favorite Nep species out there. Its sad on how rare it is though.

remember to feed both of them well! we want healthy viable seeds (not me personally) but i bet tons of people would be interested. :)

They get fed pretty well. I mist them Regularly every night with rainwater mixed with superthrive to give them their Vitamins, etc....

Looking good! Good louck with the seed making! Hope your other plant is a male (wow, don't say that very often:p).

Beautiful plant. I really like the compact size of it and the pitcher coloration is great. It would be absolutely terrific to have this pure species bred more in cultivation.
