Moss ID

I have this interesting moss growing naturally on my ditch bank. It's kind of fuzzy, light green in color, and grows in rounded clumps. Any idea what it is?

The moss turns yellow when it begins to dry out as can be seen in this picture.

Here's some Sphagnum growing naturally not far from it.

The moss in the bottom photos looks like sphagnum sp. to me. I'll guess at the one in the top being a Leucobryum sp. similar to www.hlasek.com/.../leucobryum_glaucum_aa9643.jpg but maybe L. albidum

No, carpet moss is Hypnum (e.g. Hypnum cupressiforme).

This looks like leucobryum glaucum to me as well from the pictures, which is referred to as a pin cushion moss because it tends to have areas of clumping, and well, looks like a pin cushion.

Do you have a picture of carpet moss? Is that the one commonly emerges from our pots?

I'm not sure what kind of moss commonly grows in our pots.

it deffinitly looks like Leucobryum glaucum. (Pincushion moss) or some sp. of it

Thanks guys for the ID. I know my pictures were not the best to go by. I believe leucobryum glaucum is exactly right. It's a neat looking moss. That's one of a few others that I have growing in my yard.
