Mail Scoreched Nep...Deos It Stand a Chance?!!?

Getting There...
So a very generous member of this forum was gracious enough to send me a cutting of nep! Being a new species from my basic Vent and Miranda I am very excited to try and grow this. However, it was mailed out early monday, and the USPS took their sweet time and it just got delivered to me not an hour ago...it unfortunately had a little too much heat on its slow journey here :(

Below are the pictures of it, I put it in a glass of water for 30 minutes before planting and have the media PLENTY moist right now...does it have any hope? I'm trying not to be too sad...just might have to wait a tad longer before branching out it seems :/

Thanks for the help,

Holy mother! I've never seen one looking like that... Is it bagged or in something that retains high humidity? You might have to reduce it to one or two leaf stem cuttings and start an all new plant or two from any bits that are firm and green still.

What was it?

Goodness! I suppose that if there's green, there's a chance but they look very crispy. As Swords suggested, treat them like burn victims: Bag them up and keep the air cool and moist. Good luck!

So after keeping this thing soaked with water and in good light...I think it might survive!
Here's of it green growing tip:

Now I have one last question...if this continues to grow I'm gonna have like a foot long woody stem with some leaves at the end...is there a way to set it back closer to the media? Or just wait til it shoots out some basals?

Nice save! N. mirabillis is much more papery and thinner in the leaves than other Neps, which is probably why this happened. You can plant the wood stem a bit deeper in the medium, but not too deep. You don't want to put it through any more trauma.
