Oohhh. What a nice peristome! The close-ups are super cool, I never knew spectabilis were toothy like that. Mine sure doesn't seem to be...

Iwest....Yup. Just checked photofinder...many of the plants there had teeth like mine too. How old is your plant?? This is the first pitcher I noticed that had the teeth in my care. This is the longest neck and nicest pitcher its put out too. Plant is finally settling into its pot and home. Needed a little TLC when I got it in.

That is why I have three different varieties if N. spectabilis, and at least a dozen of its hybrids!

Iwest....Yup. Just checked photofinder...many of the plants there had teeth like mine too. How old is your plant?? This is the first pitcher I noticed that had the teeth in my care. Yeah, mine's 3-4 years old but it got a bad case of mealybugs last year that stunted its growth. Pitchers are probably 1-2 inches. Hm, maybe it just needs to get a bit bigger and recover some more.

I've been wanting a ventricosa x inermis since I first saw one. Very envious.

Vent x inermis is a finicky thing sometimes. Sat pitcherless for a month or more. Then exploded with what you see there. All the while still growing and vining. I may be perswaded to top it for the right trade so I can get it to basal.
