Hypothetical question regarding wild plants and trespassing

In my opinion if something is alive it is then also conscious. It just seems like common sense to me.

In terms of the sentient argument, I'm not sure how well it applies to an argument whose pros really should be based in law, conservation, and history. However, one does having a point in saying that humans react similarly in emotion and that all life follows some predictable pattern whether they are sentient or not.
