how long for d.capensis seed pods to mature?

Not very long. Typically after the last flower on the stalk is done the bottom pod is ready for harvest. It will look brown and dried up when it is done. Should open easily when rolled between two fingers.
 
Yeah, I picked mine off when the flower pod was 1/3 brown. All the seeds were black, so thats plenty healthy!
