i dab a q-tip in some water then just rub it on the gemmaes until they stick to it. with about 3-5 gemmaes sticking at a time, its a real time killer if you've got a bunch to do.
edit: oh and watch out because the gemmaes will launch themselves when disturbed enough.
you can make an aspirtator to suck them up thats the best idea if you have alot of plants to do do. I just used an eye dropper or a pippete to suck them up which seemed ok. You have to drop a small droplet of water onto the gemmae first then try and suck them up. They will stick to just about any damp surface though so you can use alot of differnt things to move them. They will spring if you arnt careful a surprising distance. Apparently even ants have been shown to disperse them by them sticking to the ants bodies. I guess there are a lot of ants where they grow in Australia.
I tip the pot on it's side over a white piece of paper. Hold it so that when the gemmae fall they will land on the paper and not the side of the pot. Tease the centers till the gemmae quit falling on the paper.
I like to let the pot dry out overnight, then hold it over a sheet of good printer or photocopy paper. I'm looking for smoothness here. Hold the pot toward one end, and kinda fold/bend/hold the paper so it's blocking any little green missiles that inevitably fly out of the pyg. Then just take a toothpick and tease them all out. They will collect on the paper, and you can half fold it and "funnel" them wherever you want them.
