How do I clean a terrarium????

well I have a nice big glass cage that I am making into my terrarium but it has sat in my dank, dark basement for many years and I want to clean it well before I use it??? what should I use to clean the inside that will not kill my plants?:censor:

Umm, when i clean mine, I was it with water and dish soap, and rinse thoroughly. I take everything out ofcourse.

I would just hose it down, no soap. Then maybe wipe the outsides with Windex, the insides with nothing but towels/napkins.`Then allow it to dry.

alternatively, wash with 10% bleach solution, sit for an hour or two, rinse, then refill, add in dechlorinator. sit again. rinse, repeat from the dechlorinator step. once when the bleach smell is gone, it's safe to use.
