First Pitchers of the Season - 2013

IMAG0514_zps49be94fa.jpg

S. 'Dixie Lace'. This one has been up this year since late last month I believe. I have a thread called Awakening with it in it as it sent up its first pitchers.

I don't know which was actually first but the S. oreophila "Sand Mountain #4" is showing off its colors. Compare with the #2 posted earlier. This clone can get a nice red throat patch when the lighting is good.

Those are some incredible first pitchers! Gotta find me one of those Damon's Red Mystery. . . awe-inspiring!!

I really like the hood on the S. 'Flies Demise' x 'Wilkerson's Red' and the flower in the other thread.

Thanks guys! I'll probably have a division of each of those plants in the not too distant future I can send your way, certainly one of the Damon's Red Mystery, but I can let you guys know :D

S. flava (ICPS seedbank) - looks nice, can't wait for flowers - should make some nice crosses.

Very nice, Warren! I'm curious... Are your 'Judith Hindle' usually really slow to start once the growing season begins? I ask because along with S. excellens and some purps, 'Judith Hindle' are some of the late bloomers (both in flowering and vegetative growth).

They tend to be at the tail end of the middle of the road growers for me. They start pushing out pitchers around the same time as my S. minor and S. leucophylla but the pitchers develop a lot faster than either of those. Growth starts before most of my S. rubra and S. purpurea. Don't recall about flowers, none this year.

A bunch of the plants are coming along!

S. 'Judith Hindle' x 'Leah Wilkerson'. This one has dominant 'Judith Hindle' traits. I have another individual from the same cross that has a very strong purp dominance from the JH parent:
