Thanks! Well last year since I'd never grown VFTs before I really didn't know what would work so I moved them around quite a bit, but finally settled on full sun most of the day. It misses the morning sun because of a row of plants that blocks the wind (a major problem here). Planted in 50/50 peat and perlite in a cement mixing tub w drainage about 1" from the bottom. Maybe 6" of mix, seemed like more when I first planted, it probably compacted some. Also a layer of dried LFS on top to keep the perlite down. For a couple of months I fed them as many bugs as I could, especially earwigs. If a trap was open, I put an insect in it; but then I got bored of always closed traps and wanted to see if it could get some more color so I stopped.
