Changing avatars

I think maybe she must have switched back to the dolphins.  Why couldn't I have seen it just yesterday?  I didn't change anything on my settings...  

btw, Scot, I've always thought that was a pretty cool avatar.

ok! I take that back..its probably NOT you!
I found a few little red x's..

its simply gone..no longer exists at that URL, so it comes up as the red X in the forums..
sometimes servers go down, which would cause an avatar to temporaily display as the X, then return later.

while we are on this topic, (avatars) should we discuss the morally questionable habit of hotlinking?
it really bugs me personally..
of course, its often impossible to tell just by looking at the URL if the avatar is "legit" or not, because many free services have URL's that look like any other site, so no one here can really point any fingers, only the avatar user knows for sure!
still...it should be talked about, many people dont even know its wrong and costs people real money.

Perhaps you can tell me why I can't even go to the http://www.cpuk.org/ page nor see any photos that others post from this site (It's been a couple months since I could see Vic's pic's). I get a "Cannot find server/The page cannot be displayed" error every time I try going there. However Lavender says she has no trouble seeing pics from here. It's really bugging me.

Just to add to the feedback & confusion - everything is is visible and the pc at work welcomes me as a member. Definitely a Rod Serling thing!
