Cephalotus tip slightly black

Hi guys,

Today I realised that my newest, emerging Ceph pitcher is slightly black. The very tiny forming pitcher, that is.

I then proceeded to cut the rotted leaves of the Ceph and accidentally snipped out a part of a non-carnivorous leaf in the process. What was surprising was that the cut-line (for want of a better word) turned black on the leaf still attached to the plant. The severed portion turned entirely black in about 1 hr.

So, two questions:

1. Black pitcher - is this normal? I've sprayed some fungicide as a preventive measure.

2. Black leaf - why did it turn black so quickly? It's almost as if there was some black stuff oozing out from the cut!

Thanks!
