Cephalotus Propagation via its Flower Stalk: 2010 . . .

After experimenting with this method last year, and having had some success with the flower stalk cuttings (above 80%), I thought that I'd repeat it; since a number of my Cephalotus plants are in bloom, there will be no shortage of seed this Summer. The cuttings were planted in a compost of milled sphagnum, sand and perlite . . .

I did one of mine a few weeks ago and it's now blooming. You just let it bloom?

You probably took the cutting a bit later in the game than I did. Should it continue to bloom, just let it be; it wasn't a problem last year -- and I did get some seeds in the mix . . .
