They look healthy! Your tentaculata doesn't quit look like a tentaculata though, the peristome is strange. Ive seen photos of some small ones, and none have been quite as round as your's appears. This may be due to the photo quality though. If so, my bad.

Its prob the photo quality, the perisome is actually quite ovalish and kinda goes in from the middle.. It was labeled as N. Ramispina but its deff not a Ramispina my other tentaculata is the same, my ramispina got stolen (i dunno why? Or by who..prob some kid) but it didnt compare to the way this plant looks...but till it looks like something else its labled as Tentaculata#2 lol!

Some of my others, that i nursed back to health some are still on the lanky side though..

Very nice healthy plants Miss :)

Well done !

The alata is actually x ventrata, and the plant they sell as "Lantern Alata" is 'Rebecca Soper'

I kno that 'lantern alata' is a rebecca soper but i figured ppl kno/call it a 'lantern alata' or Rebecca soper soOo either name is fine :)

Idk maybe that other one is a ventrata..was given to me as a 'alata' so im sure many of my plants aren't i.d'd spot on lol.. Some i dnt think ill kno what they are till they actually get bigger and pitcher lol!
___

Thanks maiden, coming from someone who has a beautiful collection as yourself and others it means alot :) im just happy they are not shrinking and as streached as they were when given/traded to me for study :) :)

Hopefully I'll post some more photos soon :)

Looks good, I like your lingulata.

I love N. Lingulata but mine is so lanky :( but its putting out 3 basals and still growing from the main plant so I'm hoping the offsets will be more compact and less like a tree lol :)

  • #11
Your "tentaculata" is ramispina.

  • #12
Well maybe it is.. Its either one or the other lol!
The id's on 3 plants - 2 said Tentaculata 1 said ramispina
One got stolen only the two that said tentaculata are with me but the one labled ramispina didn't look like the others and idk if that's cause it was a ramispina or the others are or aren't. But one was from witsuba (i think) that a friend lent me to study..soo really weird if its not a tentaculata and they sent it as one lol.

Either way its pitchers looks nice darkened up instead of red when they start out :)

okay, lets see what's what..

Plant#4 labled 'tentaculata'

Lets see of we can finally straighten out what's what..lol

  • #14
Yeah it seems a bit tubby and round for tentaculata. They tend to have a really elongated pitcher opening - please see this as an example:
PA250358.jpg

  • #15
Plant 1 and 2 are definitely ramispina. The 3rd plant is hard to tell, the 4th may be tentaculata.

  • #16
Nice plants, Kat!

  • #17
Whoever told you plant #2 was a tentaculata doesnt know what they are talking about. Plant 1 and 2 are definitely ramispina.

  • #18
That nepenthes deneruis? Looks like a ventricosa

  • #19
Yea pretty hard to really kno till the get older cause some had that oval shape and then others didn't..but regardless they are nice plants so no problem there lol! But id reserve kno what they really are lol
Thanks for the compliments and the advice as to their IDs
:D

Heliamwalnut- i think the demeruis is a cross with Ventricosa in it (i gatta look at the tag) it was given to me by the owner of LN soo i only labled it as it was given to me..but since many of my plants apparently don't have IDs or correct ones, i would say you never kno! All i kno about that nep is its a very very stubborn grower and hasn't pitchered that size for a long time after i got it.the basal seems to be growing better then the main plant so we'll see. I think it said it was X vitchii..hmmmmm (??)
