a buddy of mine joined the airforce, after 6 years of it he said he wished he had joined the regular army or marines................depends on what your looking for

I live in Westchester, about 45 minutes from the bridge (either one).

There are native CP's in your area - in the Pine Barrens (state park, I beleive), and maybe scattered elsewhere, too.
You can find S. purpurea ssp purpurea, D. rotundifolia, D. intermedia....MAYBE a D. fillaformis, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.  
There are also several utrics around - though I don't know which ones.

Also, if there is a short cut to the Conn. coast, you should check out the NECPS (New England CP Society) which meets every month in Providence, RI.
