Unknown from @madrone It's strange how the flower stalks always die, but the flower stick around on this.

P. emarginata x cyclosecta This flower has extra petals, this is the first flower so I'm not sure if it's a fluke.

Is it almost time to do a few leaf pulling on the raspberry blond ?

Beautiful pics!! Your pings are looking great - I think I need to push my lighting a little harder!!

A couple notes on your flowers - the NOID you got from me doesn't have stalk die-off like that in my conditions (and I have 5-6 props of that plant that are flower-ing size). That's really strange!

The cyclo x emarg is probably just a fluke of the conditions during flowering - I get typical flowers, but this hybrid will also give me flowers with 4 petals. Thought I had a pic, but I can't find one now. I'll try and take one next time it does it - I swear it flowers twice a year, and one of the times it will show 'strange' flowers.

The NOID you got from vbkid looks like an emarginata x jaumavensis or jaumavensis x emarginata. Supposedly I have both of these (from different sources), but I'm hard pressed to tell one from the other, so either one is mis-id'd or their family mix came out VERY similar. Any way, not a firm ID on yours, but that's what it reminds me of!

Some time back I was given a P. laueana x emarginata and I am now impressed at what a pretty plant it is with the upturned leaf edges outlined in purple. Yours is the first photo I've seen of this one, I think.

D. burmannii Beerwah, QLD sown from seed from @FrankenSnyder on 10/25/23. Only a few more flowers left on its first flower stalk. I still have it under fairly strong light, 3-4k lux, giving it some red rather than the green this form is known for. It's also less than 1" across which I believe is small for it, again, likely from the high led light levels. Such a beautiful plant!

Under increasing pressure I will start a photo thread. Please note that I am no good at taking pictures, and rarely clean up my plants so expect that... Not sure why people would want to see my less than par plants, but here they are nonetheless.

We'll start with my poor Helis which were given to me by Zu, she thought they would do better for me... not she knows better!

H. heterodoxa

Can't see the plants with all the PB junk on the page.

Yeah, the early ones were hosted on photobucket then they decided its a pay service. That's one of the reasons I gave photo hosting to everyone here (used to be for paid members only). Anyway, I think thats only the 1st page of this 7 page thread iirc, the majority of them don't have that.

Indeed, a fantastic beautiful plant. Sadly I did not get a photo of the plants in nature. As I was looking the hundreds of them over it started to rain. Oh well, they are on the internet now and spreading around in cultivation. I bet there are more plants in cultivation than I saw in the wild there in Beerwah. Cheers!

@bluemax sent me some plants late last year that I divided up to try in different locations. Here is how they are today!
D. cuneifolia that I had inside with the pings did great until spring came. Was it the extra warmth in the room? Less temperature swing? Too much light? Not sure. It browned from the put in and once I noticed it wasn't recovering I put it out into the tropical greenhouse and it seems to have propagated from the roots?

The ones I've had out in the tropical greenhouse which is warmed to 55f. Most day temps are warmer some days are that 55f along with the nights along with decent shading. Days up to mid 80s, if it warms that much.

One of the D. murfetti is also out in the tropical greenhouse (both in 3.5" pot).
20240529_165351.jpg

And the other is in the temperate greenhouse where for winter the cooler is set cool, low 70s (for winter) and nights got all the way down to upper 20s but mostly in the 30s. Now that it's spring the cooler is set to low 80s and nights are currently still 6ps and 70s. This one is clearly smaller but seems just as happy.

All of them catch some bugs on their own and are sprayed with maxsea every week (some times skipped 1 to 2 weeks depending on schedule). None of them have flowered yet. Tropical greenhouse is the most humid 60 to 85%, inside is 45 to 65 and temperate greenhouse is 30 to 50.

Those look good! I'd say you have the D. cuneifolia totally dialed-in. Were the U. longifolia from me? I've got that one all over everything but it sure has lovely flowers.

H. minor var. pilosa x macdonaldae from recent Wistuba import finally getting some hair and color

N. (viking x amp) x viking This is one of my favorite Neps, the lowers are super squat, tubby and with a huge mouth. Finally it's making uppers and I think it's pretty unique shape too. I like it :)

S. purpurea var venosa 'White Ghost' working on growing out the red pitchers from being under LEDs. Pretty unique coloring!

N. albomarginata "red speckles" I got from the late Jim Bockowski. I was taking cuttings of stuff and this pitcher was tied to my rack. I've been filling it with water and I'm very surprised how long it's held on! (This was about a month after being cut)
