Lovely big Nepenthes hybrid. 'Sorry I didn't write down the name.

Photos for June's meeting

I'm a bit late on these. Sorry, but it is the busy time of year for me. Hopefully, better late than never.

P6108145.jpg

Venus' Flytrap "Dirk Ventham's Giant" It isn't too clear how big this plant is in the photo but compare to the size of the pot tag.

P6108146.jpg

The immense pitchers of Sarrencenia "Grendel"

P6108143.jpg

The lovely Platanthera cilliaris.

P6108150.jpg

A beautiful flower from a member of the genus Streptocarpus.

P6108151.jpg

Wonderfully colorful flowers of a Sarracenia hybrid.

P6108154.jpg

A particularly striking hybrid of Drosera capensis.

Notice the lids on the pitchers.

I'd been wondering where the pictures were! Definitely some interesting plants this month.

  • #27
Looks like a lot of Sarracenia were there. Are the lids on the plant in the last picture supposed to be like that?

  • #28
Yeah there's a few Sarr cultivars with atrophied lids. I don't recall what this one's called.

  • #29
very happy that I snatched up that catesbei

and Grendel, what a gem. that and the other things Kinjie brought.

our show and tell just keeps getting more and more dramatic, i can't wait till the leucos put out their fall foliage

I should have brought my oreo x flava in, but I didn't want to haul around such a large plant. It would have been right at home next to those monsters.

  • #31
Great photos as usual, thank you Mark! That Grendel is amazing and congrats to Carson for "snatching" that one from Kinjie :slap:

July, 2017

With my head spinning over both the collapse of Photobucket and the article in the Portland Mercury I post these photos of yesterdays' get together from a different photo-sharing site.

Aug. 2017

Here are the photos from last Saturday's excellent meeting. Hope you enjoy! I am trying new photo-hosting sites so please bear with me.

Just all sorts of goodies!

mini_P8128300.jpg

I've forgotten the genus for these flowers but they are just gorgeous.

mini_P8128302.jpg

Quite a density of utrics. Can you see the bladders?

mini_P8128304.jpg

mini_P8128306.jpg

We always seem to have beautiful pings.

mini_P8128307.jpg

BIG, nicely-grown D. regia plants.

mini_P8128308.jpg

mini_P8128309.jpg

This photo doesn't show the uniqueness of this Cephalotus well but it is hopefully to be a new cultivar - Ceph. "Elizabeth".

mini_P8128311.jpg

These Nepenthes ampullaria pitchers are big. That's a 6" pot!

mini_P8128312.jpg

N. x 'Sabre'.

mini_P8128313.jpg

A nice cluster of D. adelae.

Thanks mark! Helluva give away we had. That huge orchidioides utric in the glass vase - anyone know the name for it?

  • #37
Utricularia nelumbifolia

I was going to ask how you could identify it just from the bladders but then I realized the leaves are visible in another pic.
