Beyond Beginner's Information: Insider's Insight
This was originally written for my friend whose interest is piqued in Carnivorous Plants. I've worked very hard on this, but I don't doubt that perhaps I've forgotten anything meaningful or gotten something wrong. Please correct, or add other...

My N. burkei just revealed its first flower spike. This is the true Borneo Exotics burkei from Halcon (BE-3254), and I'm hoping some other folks have mature ones in cultivation at or near the flowering stage. If not, I'm thinking this plant could also make some killer hybrids.
I only have...
Hi Folks,
We've recently updated a large new resource of all original photos to the BE website which is linked from the 'Catalogue' tab of our homepage at http://www.borneoexotics.com (thanks carnivour for pointing this out on anither thread) :-)
The idea is to help people to find out what...
So, I'm heading off to college in a few weeks and I've got to do something about the plants! There's no way I'm fitting them all in my dorm so I'm only keeping two neps (my first one, and a small truncata). The rest are up for postage!
The catch is that most of them are pretty sick looking...
Here's my new arrival. Just got it a few days ago. Would love to see photos from others who have recently gotten their hands on this new hybrid from Borneo Exotics.
I have 3 established divisions of Heliamphora tatei var. tatei Cerro Marahuaca, Venezuela from Borneo Exotics. Division were taking at the beginning of the year and are now growing adult pitchers about 3 inches tall. Parent plant is about 10 inches tall.
I am looking for highland Nepenthes...
Hello.
I have a very large N. sibuyanensis x maxima that i have grown from a baby to a 2 foot vine. It's just sprouted a basal and is developing uppers. It's biggest lower pitcher was about 16" x 8". Fatty ding-dong pitchers!
I'm looking to trade it for:
Large, EASY, Nepenthes...Ventrata...
For any of you that might be interested in trying to grow cacti or succulents from seed, here is a list of a few places that might be able to offer the seed of that special plant you've always wanted to someday grow.
This is a list that was compiled by a couple of members from our local Cactus...
Finally I have finished one of my project and have time to post some pics taken during the later summer and fall.
Here are some pics:
N. aristolochioides. It stopped pitchers during the summer due to unknown reason. But now it starts to pitcher again. This plant grows quickly for me. Generally...
Here are a couple of other large cultivars, which have been circulating for many years before the "B52" -- including the "Southwest Giant" (aka "Slack's Giant" and "G16"), attributed to Adrian Slack and his Marston Exotics nursery back in the 1980s, and "Dirk Ventham's Giant," (aka "G14") also...
I finally jumped on the bandwagon with a few other growers and picked up Borneo Exotic's seed-grown Nepenthes "Queen of Hearts" x "King of Spades," a well-known cross between two very rare forms of N. truncata, all but extinct in the wild. The photos of the "parents" are stunning.
Nepenthes...
What we have here -- and soon to be in your hot little hands -- is Carnivorous Plants by Adrian Slack. It is the predecessor of Insect-Eating Plants and How To Grow Them and a true classic of the field. It is a first American, oversize hardback edition -- 22 cm x 27 cm (8.5” x 10.75”) -- in...
Hi all...
Haven't seen any new photos of these for a long time, just wondered if anybody still grow these and if yes, could you please post some updated photos.
I have two distinct forms, very interested to see what yours look like...
Origenal description from the 2008 pricelist ...
This is a strange looking N. fusca that I received from Jack and Jeanie at Hawaiian Botanicals via Borneo Exotics. (If any of you ever end up in Richmond BC, be sure to drop in at their greenhouse/nursery and say hi. They are very friendly folks and have a great little place there...
My indoor nep grow chambers housing mainly lowlands right now. I will switch them out with the highlands when temps outside turn hot again.
Common red Ventricosa
N. Reinwartdiana from Borneo Exotics. You can see the new leaves are about twice the size as the ones it arrived with. This one...
