After being asked for a good method for cross pollinating Drosera species, I wrote to friend Ivan who kindly provided this reply:
Hi Tamlin,
Here is a piece on Drosera Cross Pollination for the forum. Post it for me as I am not subscribed.

Hi there,
I made the following cross few weeks ago:
mother: Pinguicula sp. 'Pachuca'
father: Pinguicula moranensis var. caudata
Should I label the seeds:
1° P. sp. 'Pachuca' x moranensis var. caudata
or
2° P. moranensis var. caudata x sp. 'Pachuca' ...
Boy, I just struck gold! I received a packet of N. lowii seeds last night. I sowed them in chopped LFS, covered them with cling wrap, and set them out in a low light area on my deck (perfect highland conditions, warm days, cool nights). Now I'm crossing my fingers.
The seeds are apparantly...
Well folks, I've gone and done it. Went out on the deck yesterday, and found that my typical capensis and my spatulata were flowering simultaneously. RAN inside (almost killed myself tripping over the cat) to get my tweezers. Removed the stamens (anthers? whatever it is that holds the...
Hey guys, i've asked this a million times, but never seem to be able to get pollen out of the flowers themselves. Here's the specifics:

Ok... here is the situation, I had a brother in law that liked CP's and orchids, when he decided to divorce my sister and leave for someone else, he took his orchids, but left all his cp's. (foolish on more than one count!
Well, my sister finally asked me to come save them... and I started...
anyone have one, or seen it? if not, then could it turn out to have wider, stronger pitchers? because when it rains, the water gets filled up in the pitchers and they collapse, knocking down other nearby pitchers as well..i heard somewhere that purpurea pitchers can get knocked over, but stands...
Anyone know if D.Capensis and D.Spatulata can be successfully crossed? Anyone know if it's worth the effort?
Mine are flowering (when are they not? ), and I kinda want to try it out.
