carnivorous plants of the world -- unite!
Don't get a lot of mushrooms appearing in my terrs. This is the first time for a yellow one though. Not sure what it is feeding on ... tis an older planting.

Hmmmm. See what happens as it matures. The collar on the stalk, and the texture on the cap has me suspecting I might know that one. Any pine products in the substrate?

Probably Leucocoprinus birnbaumii.

Pretty cool looking mushroom though. I usually get these little stringy looking mushrooms that grow in my dead heli pitcher when the humidity is high.

Indeed a wood rotting saprobe. Once had one sprout from nothing other than peat..

Never opened up fully ... Not sure why but it has already withered.

Substrate is pure sphag.

Thanks for the possible ID.

This is a repeated post from another thread:

This one first came up in a pot with a young Passiflora cutting. I've since seen it elsewhere inside, but not for a while.

I think it's Leucocoprinus birnbaumii. The Passiflora is Passiflora ornithoura. When I started it, I labeled the container with the abbreviated name: "P.orn"

Recently, I had a couple of those appear in a terrarium with a soil mix meant for epiphytes. I went out of town for a couple days and after I came back there they were-- two full size mushrooms. They lasted only a couple days and then collapsed.

@Randy: That's what they get for watering with Viagra. :jester:
