NASC auction is OPEN!!
Hi Everyone,
With the cool nights of winter many of our plants are showing winter colors.  Pitchers are darker and more intense in color compared to their summer counterparts.

Here are a few example pics Michelle shot today in the greenhouse.
N. mirabilis echinostoma normally during the summer these are red like a coccinea, but in winter they are almost black.

Fancy hybrid seedlings are showing rich colors too. Here's N. thorelii x trusmadiensis- can't wait to see this baby all grown up.

Here are 3 different seedlings of N. thorelii x truncata

This is one of our N. (northiana x veitchii) x Tiveyi.  The spotting on the pitcher is more intense in winter.  Some seedlings have red maxima/northiana-like spotting, while this seedling has more orange/coral/pink overtones.

Our gold/green N. veitchii lowland looks the same in both summer and winter.

Enjoy the pics.

Nice pictures guys! All the plants I got from you are doing excellent. Can't wait to make it down your way again. Hopefully my N. veitchii will look like that soon.

Wow! Those're some very nice crosses you have there. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Mmm... Nothing like pics of Nep pitchers on [very] early Sunday morning. I agree with the effect temperature has on colour.
Thanks for sharing Trent!

Cheers

Thanks everyone.

Dustin, we keep the temp above 50 degrees F, but more typically the night temps are 58 to 64 degrees F. Our plants have seen 45 a few times, but only for a few hours. The night temp may drop down to the low 50's once a week or so.
Both the highland and lowland Neps show better color with cool nights.
