I've literally got one VFT and it's a B52 my buddy sent trying to turn me onto them. Didn't work.. I don't dislike them. Just not really that into them is all.

@mass.. they are a complete turnaround from neps and other pitcher plants is all... They are small, all the same species, and the sought after ones are mutated lol.. so they are a differnt taste... Im wadingmy way into neps the same way because of a little ventricosa a friend sent me. I just love the way the fly traps look like a bunch of bear traps with blood red interiors and such... and that they grow lrelatively fast for cp'sand are easy to propagate which i have fun doing,.

You weren't around for the catalyst behind this thread, Dex, but you're entitled to whatever you think. The subtext of the thread is freedom of speech.

Venus Fly Traps: I hate the green ones. So....boring.
Sarracenia: I don't like any of the hybrids. I prefer the pure species like Minor, Flava, etc.
Darlingtonia: It produces such a complex trap yet still never managed to produce enzymes (this fact annoys me). I also hate how difficult they are and have given up on them
Nepenthes: I hate all the hybrids except for Ventrata (I have sentimental value for that one).
Drosera: I hate almost all the pygmies, the tuber ones, and the ones that form winter buds.
Pinguicula: not a fan of the northern pings. Also, some of the Mexican hybrids look too identical.
Utriculara: I don't like any of the terrestrial ones except for the ones with cool leaves (ex: Calcifida)

As the question posed in the title asks: What species of carnivorous plant do you, personally, hate?

Utricularia subulata.
A pure weed pest among cultivated plants.
Especially those with cleistogamous flowers: Producing masses of self-sowing seeds without showing opened flowers.
I never purchased one, but have them growing in more and more pots where not wanted.

Specifically:

FREE SPEECH

Your speech is restricted to good decent human behavior. Racial bigotry, slanderous or hurtful comments, insults, pornography, sexually suggestive material, and FIGHTING will NOT be tolerated. Anyone who does not agree with this policy should probably not participate in this Discussion Forum. All actions taken here are taken with the best interests of the community AS A WHOLE. While we would like to please everyone, we probably can’t. So keep all of that in mind while posting here.

The number of reports on the behavior going on in this thread more than indicates that people are ignoring the rules, I suggest everyone go back and read them lest the next report end in this thread being locked.

I couldn't think of any until I saw Jesse's post - yes both U. subulata (for all the reason's Jesse lists) & U. bisquamata for most of the reasons he lists. Although, they don't have cleistogamous flowers, the blooms are very small and almost worthless. I've worked very hard to purge my collection of these beasts and do not want them back!!

A sidenote / thought while I'm posting - many people list utrics on their dislike list. One of the things I have noticed through the years is that my interest in different types of CPs is like a sine wave. One year, Sarrs will hold my attention and constantly lure me over to them. Another year, I may be fascinated by the growth habits & flowers of the macro utrics. While it has never been 'pure' (in that I hate one group while adoring another), the intensity of the 'like/dislike' seems to ebb & flow over time

I also dislike most nepenthes with small/undeveloped peristomes, besides inermis of course.

Sorry, Pyro, should have seen that coming. What I meant is that people should be able to express an opinion about which neps they like or dislike (love or hate). I know inflammatory, derogatory, or blatantly insulting comments are not allowed. Mod regulation needs to happen, but I think you would agree that there needs to be a level of understanding among members that others may have different opinions.

However, I respectfully apologize for all of the reports you have received regarding this thread.
