What is Going On Here? [Pic]

When I was repotting this plant, I broke off a little flower stalk that was just forming. I don't remember this thing ever looking like the little flower stalk I broke off. This is just a regular ol' Sarr I got from Lowe's.

Is this a flower? It has pieces growing off it to the side....

Looks like a deformed flower. Maybe an aphid got to it when it was young.

But in all seriousness, I have no idea what that is. Very interesting, though.

Here's a picture I took of it maybe a week ago using my phone. It was connected in a weird hoop thing.
