I don't keep spiders or anything. I think it would be cool to have one of these in a large tank though. I'd feed it mice, hamsters, bats :0o:... you name it.

Wow that was a good video! Those are really cool, but I'm not sure I would want one in my house. They seem awfully crafty, and venomous. :O
 
I can't believe that second pic. You've got to be really stupid to free handle one of these. Giant scorpions are EXTREMELY venomous. Their venom is actually an acid that melts their prey for easier ingestion. If you live in the US desert, watch your feet!!
 
I was wondering about that... I knew that even smaller centipedes can be potentially dangerous, that one just looks savage!

I know, right! I've always wanted to keep a Scolopendra, but none of my girlfriends would allow it. Tarantulas were okay though..

I've seen this a few times now, through various sources, and it remains one of the absolutely, positively most terrifyingly horrifying things I've ever seen.

urgh, HORRIBLE. :cry:

I've seen one of these in southern France. Awful things. One bit someone we know there on their leg when they were in bed :s Years later they still have a blue mark where they were bitten, and it is colder than the rest of their skin. Also years later, the Scolopendra is dead in glass jar- where it belongs :puke:

beautiful creatures to say the least, but not in my house.:crazy:
 
Centipedes around here are typically very aggressive, you've gotta watch out when you're moving rocks or doing any yardwork.
