ventricosa flowers

my ventricosa has a huge flowering stem on it and its just starting to open the bottom flowers. i was wondering what to do with it. how can i and how long should i store the pollen?

When the flowers open, tap the spike over aluminum foil so that ripe pollen can be collected. Fold the aluminum and keep in the refrigerator. I believe it will keep for some time (6months?) but the sooner used the better results. Congradulations on the flower!

so all the little flowers on the spike are dead and i think it looks stupid and ugly now just hanging there all dead and weird looking. the stem isnt dead but the flowers are... can i cut it off?

yeah you can chop the flower spike
it wont harm it. i chop em after the spike sags a bit XD

I keep collecting pollen if it's still producing. They like to make pollen even on their way out...

If it is dead all the way, you should cut it off.

Trevor, you never got back to my email! :)poke:)
