Tj's Plant Thread!!

Looking good TJ. Glad to see you are rebuilding. I know how Family and the rest of life can put a damper on our hobbies. Way worth it though!

The newest addition to my little cp family! N. villosa Tambuyukon (possibly x kinabaluensis) ;

I will try to take better pictures later. I took these with my phone.

Nice pics and plants travis...

don't know much bout plant photography, I do it by taking lot and lots of pics and keeping the few that seem to look good to me.
We do have some really technically talented and artistic photographers amongst the membership though.

one of the things I found that really helped me (or at least made life easier) was a lateral tripod and remote shutter release.

tripodkit.jpg

once you get a tripod and remote shutter, you can play with longer exposure settings, lower ISO, increased DOF, focus bracketing... etc
it opens up a whole new world of options.

my tripod is an entry level Oben brand sold by B&H, I love it!
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ihft26m_kZE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

IIRC mine has a 16lb capacity, and handles my 100mm macro and T3i w/o issue at any angle

Cool! Thanks a lot Butch! I'm definitely going to look into one of those. Prolly a whole lot better then using my hands and a bucket for support lol. I might get a shutter control too but I may not need one since I can controll the shutter with my phone.

Play with the camera day again! Took a few pics, hopefully soon ill have a larger selection so I'm not taking pics of the same plants weekly lol. It is fun to see the weekly changes though:)

This little Cephalotus seedling is growing faster then I expected it to. I've never had a ceph before and always assumed they grew much slower.
