Davy, you've clearly never seen its flowers then! They're amazing, the largest inflorescence in the world, up to 12 feet tall in the wild.

Nice looking plant I don't know any tips for care, but once it flowers make sure the windows are open.. lol :-))

Man, I've wanted one of these for a while now. Unfortunately the only ones I've seen for sale were $100.

How much did you purchase yours for, Kamil, if you don't mind me asking?

The growing mix that I use is 1 part commercial compost, 1 part small bark, 1 part lava cinder, and 1 part large perlite. I think any mix that drains well yet holds moisture moderately will work. The plant is watered daily. In full sun, subtropical conditions. Fertilized with 1/2 strength fish emulsion fertilizer every two weeks. After it goes dormant I dig up the tuber, rinse it off, soak it in a dilute solution of household bleach (1 part household bleach to 9 parts water) for 10 minutes, dry it off, and store it in a cool dry place until it begins to sprout again, then plant it. Good luck with your plant.

I traded mine for 2 raspberry cuttings Jeremy.

Thanks tropics, the stuff you mentioned is not available here i was wondering if i could trade one quart of the medium of you for maybe some ribbon fan palms?

Kamil

You traded that awesome plant for some lame old raspberry cuttings? I could have gone into my uncles back yard and cut some off for you for free. Seeing that thing grow up would have been awesome.
