The rest of the pics are not really great, but I did the best I could. It's of a very rare Red-cockaded woodpecker. The sun was in the wrong angle and I had to zoom my camera all the way out.
Well that's all the pics that I currently have taken. I have only mapped about half of the preserve so I have a long way to go. I'll be adding more pics as I take them.
Nice! Nothing like a good healthy routine fire to keep things clean! CPs and orchids come back even better than previous years. When these fires are prevented for up to a decade or so, then the fires become holocausts incinerating almost everything. These late summer flash fires on a regular basis clears up the old debris, thick layers of dead grass leaves and releases the minerals, and kills off the grubs and parasites that dwell in the surface of that litter. - Rich
