Sundrew's Photo Thread

Finally spent some quality time with the plants today. Some more quick pics:

One of my favorite neps at the moment, N. x ventrata!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518783261/" title="DSC02120 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8106/8518783261_4d3b7dba18_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="DSC02120"></a>

Anyone know what could be wrong with my N. ventricosa? It's never been much of a good grower, but I attribute that to the five or six basals growing out of it.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782571/" title="DSC02125 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8527/8518782571_9f72d48efc_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02125"></a>

Seeing the alata tendril on N. rafflesiana alata x squat. Don't mind the fog.

Nice red pitcher forming on N. lowii x campanulata, the first in my care.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782491/" title="DSC02128 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8091/8518782491_53b23fcceb_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="DSC02128"></a>

My N. ampullaria 'Lime Twist' is starting to put out deformed leaves. It has two nice basals, so I think it too is being drained of energy. That and roots are coming out of the bottom of the pot...

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8519897040/" title="DSC02132 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8249/8519897040_f6288260bf_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="DSC02132"></a>

My Pinguicula emarginata x jaumavensis threw out its first flower.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782417/" title="DSC02133 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8089/8518782417_a05dc41839_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02133"></a>

The plant doesn't look too shabby either:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782383/" title="DSC02134 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8242/8518782383_6a4cddd9f2_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02134"></a>

D. oblanceolata:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782333/" title="DSC02136 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8106/8518782333_f11179991c_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02136"></a>

D. prolifera. Check out all the babies!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8519896852/" title="DSC02137 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8513/8519896852_b88dcfd298_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02137"></a>

My largest D. burmannii from Humpty-Doo, Australia crashed. I have no idea why. One remains.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782251/" title="DSC02138 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8236/8518782251_0965b2b155_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="DSC02138"></a>

Another of my favorite sundews. A D. multifida 'extrema' cutting:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8518782227/" title="DSC02150 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8086/8518782227_0a21147826_z.jpg" width="640" height="586" alt="DSC02150"></a>

Here's the coffee-flavored burmannii. After not feeding it for a few weeks, the plant's glands have turned red and the leaves have shifted to a light pink. Seeds soon!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/84442298@N03/8519897422/" title="DSC02143 by Sundrew, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8227/8519897422_5a079ff37d_z.jpg" width="640" height="439" alt="DSC02143"></a>

Ultra-cropped pic that actually turned out pretty well. Makes me wish I had a DSLR for real macro.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys!

@Pebes: Hmm. It's on a windowsill with only a few hours of direct sun a day. Other neps next to it look fine, including the ventrata. I'll move it away from the window a little, thanks for the advice.

Thanks man. It's the only burmannii I've raised successfully enough to flower, as exhibited by that crispy Humpty-Doo. Really miffed I didn't get seeds before it died.

Tis ok, those things need CONSTANT feeding...matter of fact, it's really hard to feed them enough, I often end up succeeding with them only outside where they catch their own prey.

@Aiden: The red burmannii? Looked like this in its prime:

Awesome plants, Drew. As I've said before, that burmanii is particularly nice.

Thanks! I look forward to trying to TC it. The flowerstalk is looking good, so I should have enough seeds to try a second generation before spreading it around.

'Sorry to hear about the loss of the "Humpty-Doo". That, too, was a beautiful plant.

Even after the color change I still like the "coffee". 'Glad to hear you may soon be getting seeds. When my D. burmannii have started producing them they put them out in quantity.

Lowii x campy popped this morning:
