not sure, what do u have for internet, i know at home i have basic cable internet and it is slower than the higher speed we have here at work.

No, generally speaking that stuff is all a load of hooey. Your downloads go as fast as the connection you pay your provider for.

Depends on what you are using to steam the video... If you've seen the video I run during light on hours for my killfish breeding bowl... ( http://www.ustream.tv/channel/n-palm...-breeding-bowl from topic: http://www.terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124846 ) I am using ustream.tv which is free and just is ad supported... Using that, you can run adobe flash live media decoder on your computer (free download with adobe account) and it allows for greater control of your feed. And yes, I did notice a difference in quality of the video, in both the rate at which the video flows, and the actual quality of the picture. Now, is that available as an option from whatever you are using to stream video? No idea... I had to DL a XML file from ustream and then open it using AFLMD.

I suspect he means video coming downstream, and not stuff he's hosting himself. But I might be wrong.

No. In general such advertising is just for a fake software to provide you some viruses, trojans, spyware or just adware or an additional toolbar for your web browser to direct you to the "correct" video sites they want to promote.

But currently there exists a software than can accelerate one type of videos that have a big audience in the web: Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is able to play Flash videos using H.264 codec much smoother than any earlier versions, because it now can use the hardware acceleration of your graphics card for playing Flash videos.

So if you use Adobe Flash Player 10.0 or earlier it might be time to upgrade to Adobe Flash Player 10.1. But don't do it anywhere, do it at the website http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Then some Flash videos may run much better on your PC, because the hardware acceleration of your graphics card is better utilised.
