So if anybody want's to trade something for a few aphids just hit me up with a PM and we'll work out a deal.

damn.......I just finished killing the last of the black aphids on my aquatic plants in my aquatic terrarium. could have given them to ya! However I can't say I would be interested in aphids.....lol. If I do ever get an aphid infestation I might be interested in some ladybugs. :)

Why would anybody in their right mind WANT aphids?
And if you're serious, why the ladybugs?

From one person in a hobby full of sane people,.. I find those pics disturbing, and disgusting.

:-))

Guys, I think it is a joke.

Mass: Ladybugs eat aphids. Perhaps poster is raising aphids for his ladybugs? lol

yes, ... I was joking, lol...

- 6 bottles of insecticidal soap, two concentrate bottles of neem oil, two treatments of dial soap, one gallon of cayenne tea and countless hours pinching leaves... 2 gallons of 1/4 cup Murphys oil soap and 2 cups rubbing alcohol.. all of these things were applied daily for over a month... surprised the plants could stand it.. --- I ordered lacewing eggs and 3,000 lady bugs - once they got in, I stopped spraying - this is one week later. . . . many dead aphids, but barely a dent since the sudden boom in population...

the sprays were holding them in check, not killing them back, but not allowing for any population booms either...

obviously wasted a lot of money trying to win back my plants, but at a certain point I just kept going out of spite.

Im not sure since I have never done this but maybe try like 2-3 hours. Im sure someone who has done this can give input though because I dont know what is good time-wise.

The ladybugs and lacewings will eventually bring the aphids under control but it will not be an instant fix. It will work best if the plants are in a room from which the ladybugs and lacewings cannot leave. Otherwise some portion will fly off to other pastures.

to kill the aphids on my aquatic plants after a little reading all one needs to use some dish soap and water.

yep, that's what I started with.. lots and lots of it... then the insecticidal soap... lots and lots of it... then neem oil.. lots and lots of it.. then every hokey little recipe there is -- then I called in the ladybugs and lacewings -- still to no avail... lol .. I think I'm dealing with some kind of super bionic mutated ultra aphids..

If the ladybugs and lacewings don't work out for you a pesticide I would recommend would be Malathion, it is a hardcore pesticide ment for aphids. It is a relative to DDT but without the environmental breakdown, it is an organic pesticide

I'll try that.. I'll try anything at this point, lol
