Good instructional pics! That gives us a better idea of what to look for when ours have that clenched fist look.
 
Birds could be a problem this year, you think it could digest one? My D. scorpioides caught about 8 crane flies!! I pulled them off because I was worried about rot....

i look on my dormant Filiformis...and under the purple leaves...i notice green :) only a matter of time now!
