NASC auction is OPEN!!

spectabilis x aristolochioides

Tran,

It must be nice to live in Ho Chi Minh City. To my understanding, this is a hybrid of two highland species.

Everybody else was doing it....

Hi Clue,
Actually my name is Minh but that okie too. I can't use chiller it cost too much enegy and power in Vietnam are expensive but using sunlight give my plant more colour so I grow them in sunlight, I grow x lebih in lowland condition and they are doing well but I not sure for this species aristolochioides are ultrahighland.
Hi carnivoure,
Is that you grow in terratium with chiller ? The plant is heathly and beauti. I love it ! Thank for sharing !

Hi Minh, I use a terrarium, but I don't have a chiller its in my room, my room is naturally highland conditions, so i have no fancy machines or anything, just a bottle to mist and some lights thats it. thanks for the compliment.

Aristolochioides isn't necessarily ultrahighland but it highalnd its a bit pickier than most. But in this cross you get spectabilis aswell. Spectabilis is a very easy highlander, so the cross spectabilis x aristolochioides, is easier than a pure aristolochioides.

Hi carnivoure,
Wow naturally highland condition ! More better than mine, temperature never down than 27 in the afternoon temperature can be 36 some time can more than 36. I will try to grow this species heheee...

my most recent pitcher on mine....great hybrid i must say

Do you guys think it'll handle nights about 70-78.. and daytimes well up to 100'z. :D Thats what I get for using a windoww~

highly doubt it would like that Halt as it is still a highland hybrid, mine handled 4 consecutive days of days around 106 though, but they still had a night time drop into the 50s..

...mine handled 4 consecutive days of days around 106...

That was the craziest NW Pacific Heat wave!!! 4 days later the high was like 70f.

Are people in China, Vietnam, Borneo, etc. experiencing these extreme changes or is it just the "west" that is experiencing this? It's all over our news media but we naturally don't hear about weather on the other side of the world unless it's a hurricane or tsunami!

Ah what the heck, may as well add to this thread again. Earlier in the thread I mentioned I couldn't wait to see what this plant would look like in a year. It's now over a year later, and here it is. It hasn't grown as much as I'd expected, but it's still one of my more vigorous neps. It's about 5" high, latest pitcher about 1.5". Last couple leaves seem to indicate it's going to start putting on some size.

Fantastic pictures (and plant) nightsky. Keep up the good work.

Amazing as usual. :) Seems like it'll start vining soon, nice! This is really a fantastic hybrid. I'll put some pictures up later.

Ya, definitely add to the thread. Xvart, how is your holding up? I noticed Kristoff's pitcher shape is much narrower than on mine, but his plant is larger.

Xvart, how is your holding up?

I gave my away, and haven't seen it in a while. From what I hear it is doing well. Thanks for asking; seeing your picture makes me wish I didn't give it away! lol.
