I recently had an opportunity to take a few shots of Sarracenia buds on the way; and it is still quite gratifying to be able to shoot in black and white -- even in 2010 . . .
Nice shots! I love shooting in black and white when I have nothing extremely interesting to take pictures of. Did you photoshop the background out or did you put something black behind the plants?
There was a sheet of black foam-core behind the plants (why futz with things if you don't have to?); and my digital SLR has a black an white setting which I like using from time to time . .
