NASC auction is OPEN!!

Same deal here with this orchid

This plant was purchased at the same time. The blooms on this are beginning to die from the bottom up.

Where should I trim this once the blooms are spent, if at all?

That looks like a Brassia or a hybrid with a lot of Brassia in it. But I don't know them and I could be very wrong.

I'd let it finish blooming and would then cut the spike back and repot it. I repot all new orchids because I believe most mixes are at or beyond the end of their useful life when orchids are sold. It probably isn't always necessary, but it's what I do.

Okiedokie... This plant is Brassia 'Rising Star' which is Brs. 'Rex' x Brs. vetrucosa.  You certainly hit that ID of it being a Brassia on the head!  Thanks!

It's been repotted.  I'll cut back the spike after it finishes blooming.
