That happened on my terra cotta pot with Drosophyllum and it was out in the open. I guess if the pot has moisture, it'll grow. Didn't hurt the plant though, and I just whiped it off occasionally.

Yeah I repotted my Cephalotus because the white mold started getting on the soil!

Update! Moved plants out of basement, trying to fight the mold issue.

Big Easy growin great during dormancy

I see two Eden Black seedlings! Cute lil strands of grass with a brown seed cap.

Still nothing from mine. :( So youve been keeping yours like, BOGGY? very water logged?

You kinda have to do a lil experimenting... I noticed for my setup, having an airtight container with little bit of water wards of fungus and whatnot.

  • #28
yeah I have mine on sterilized, rinsed media.. still had some mold problems on the seed themselves..

So im squinting, looking at your pics real close, and I dont see the seed casing.. are you sure those arent just hitchiking grasses? I get them in my LFS all the time, and they look like that..

  • #29
Couldn't find any seed casing for some reason.... anywhere ???

  • #31
That does seem to be a rather stark difference...

  • #33
Dang I hope they are, they sure do look like grass seed though. I sterilized the media though before?

I noticed a new seedling that wasn't present yesterday - so I snapped a pic. In addition to the penny, there is an out-of-focus older seedling at ~4 o'clock for scale.

Could be a flower. Still waiting to see my first one here, so I can't say either way. Everything looks good though.
