Right of Passage?

a 200 to 300 pound cat versus a man with a spear.......you dont get to make a mistake or you die, Sasha was quite successful against cougars and jaguars with a spear, he lived into old age........a person against what is the largest preditor on land.......well you better be dang lucky as your not going to get to do it very often as a 700 pound bear can break a 1200 pound steer's neck with a quick swipe of a paw. dont take that much pressure to shatter a spears wooden handle......
 
All I know, is I would never do it because I KNOW I would mess up somehow...and end up in a pile of bear scat. Inuits seemed to be pretty successful with the technique though....but then again they are hard people. I'd never be able to survive in -50 degrees, or not seeing the sun for months.
