Primitive carnivory analyzed

I'm so sorry for the post necromancy. I've noticed this plant popped up beside my drosera. I think the dew and hairs are visible in this picture. 🤔 I've been searching and I thought this plant was Hawkweed. But from you guys observations , it's piqued my curiosity. I have noticed about 10:30 in the mornin the dew goes away until the next mornin. This plant was found growing in south MS out of the sphagnum moss I collected I believe. Could it be Erythranthe? I've been watching it to see if it eats too 🙂

Thanks for sharing. Interesting and looks neat whatever it is. Looks like a killer. Growing in sphagnum moss, extra points. I can’t tell yet if it is a Monkey Flower or not. I believe there are still more kinds of plants which do the directed guttation trick awaiting discovery. Test your plant if you can.

Monkey Dew 4.29.26.jpg
Photo shot today. Selecting from a new generation of my hybrid Monkey Dew. I am test feeding the seedlings fruitfly heads. One has proven to be a super secreter. Red pigment dissolves out of the fly eyes and tints the fluid, indicating digestion is taking place. Same as butterworts dew.
