Pineapple

Will a pineapple plant that I cut off the top of a pineapple and planted produce more pineapples? Does it need lots of light or something?

Yes, it should produce another fruit, after awhile, if it is grown out properly. I would gently pull off some of the botton leaves and root it in a small dish of water first.

They do require a good deal of light and they can be grown outside in the summer.

Once the plant is mature, you can cover it with a plastic bag with along with an apple (source of ethylene gas) to induce flowering/fruiting.

I've had it now for over 6 months. I just wasn't sure if you needed to plant the entire pineapple or something. Thanks.
