Pic of the Day

That pic looks different from your normal ones Paul? Was it shot at a higher ISO, or on film or something?

Same camera, same ISO, more direct sunlight, much smaller aperture/greater depth of field. Normally I limit depth of field to a narrow range, but this time I decided to retain as much detail as possible. Perhaps that is the difference you are seeing.

Thanks Devon!

Im hoping to post more photos now that school is done for the summer. Been crazy busy for the last 3 months.

Very nice pitcher!

I know there is lots of noise, it isn't super clear, not a lot of contrast and stuff... but considering I just randomly took this, I think it's pretty good! I didn't bother editing it.

I like the way it looks like there is a beam of light on the middle plant...

@Devon: very nice plants indeed. D. scorpioides just doesn't grow for me. I suspect it doesn't like highland greenhouse conditions :-(

Here's my pic-o-the-day, N. lowii X campanulata:

Love that scorpiodes pic.
Don't feel bad Paul.. I'm in that same boat with ya.

row row row your HL boat, gently down the stream...

This N. 'Lady Pauline' pitcher was made at the beginning of the year and is still fresh and bright! Proving that some nep pitchers can last quite a bit even in lower humidity.

@Mass and Whim: Thanks! It's actually supposed to be D. dichrosepela, but I suspect it is lasiantha or gibsonii. The pics I saw on CPphoto finder of dichrosepela do not look the same as mine.

@Kyle: Nice shot! I haven't taken any insect pics yet either... I want to try it this summer.

Very nice but yikes! Every day those lil guys crawl out of no where while I inspect the sarr pods and the near-opening nap pitchers... hope I don't get bit! D:
