Hy guys!i found the photo sphagnum moss and particulary variety..for exsample red sphagnum and more..thank you guys!

Since you need a microscope to identify some of the characteristics that define the species of Sphagnum moss I doubt you'll find anything very helpful.

A list of the species can be found here
http://culturesheet.org/sphagnaceae:sphagnum
http://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Sphagnum

You can always try a Google image source on each species but I doubt you'll find anything for 99% of them. I have no idea of how complete or up-to-date these lists are. The number of known species varies depending on which taxonomist you talk to.

A good resource: http://www.botanik.univie.ac.at/~temsch/basics.html

From the above:

Classification of sphagna takes experience, and is sometimes impossible without the aid of a microscope. The following criteria are applied to distinguish between species:

Number of branches per fascicle
Number of pendent and spreading branches, and their degree of differentiation
Shape of branch leaves (squarrose, hooded, etc.)
Direction of stem leaves (upward, downward or horizontal)
Shape of the head
Size and prominence of the terminal bud
Secondary pigments
Shape and location of chlorocytes
Spiral fortification of hyalocytes
Number, size, and fortification of pores
Structure of hyalocyte cell walls (papillose or other ornamentations)

sorry guys but my english is very bad:-))
wondering if anyone has pictures of different types of sphagnum moss?
