Pests from ordering from MA nursery

Has anyone ever gotten little brown-black spiders in thier order? I also found what i think to be little eggs. they are about the size of the writing tip of a sharpie marker. I cracked one open on accident and didnt see anything in it. they were in the media on the top. very wierd. I am wearing gloves next time i open orders from them.

they use osmocote, a timed-release fertilizer that comes in little pellets. Could that have been the "eggs?" I found a spider on one of my plants, but it was just that-- a spider, not a mite.
