paph. ID

hello,
i got an orchid from Meijer's. its a phalaenopisis___. its yellow and star-shaped with redish purple flecking on the inside and the part that sticks out is oragneish(says how much i know about orchids)

The odd ball of all thbe other petals ans sepals is called the lip.  And what you have is more than likely a hybred.  I had one from Lowes and it was a hybred.  It looked exactly as you described.  Its very hard to get an ID on a NoID hybred orchid.  There is so many combinations to make that color you would be hard pressed to get an ID.  I have many NoID orchids.  Now what you could do is narrow down the location it was purchased and if someone else also got that same flower you could get an ID that way.  Just hard on the hybreds to ID the NoID plants.

Also Subject says paph ID, but post says Phal. Paphs are lady slippers and have a pouch for the lip.

Nice flowers!! Definately a Phal or Phal/dorti cross. Mine looked like that but it had more mahogany in it. I killed it by crown rot and then ki8lled the keiki because of under watering since I tried unsuccessfully to mount it.
