OH NO!!

oh crap! i got root rot on my N. Ventrata...yea the one that got all its roots torn off in the storm...same one. the stem is going brown but doesnt look like its turning woody. its soft and spongey. this thing has only about 5 or leaves on it and has not vined yet. is it still possible to get 2 cuttings from this baby? and for a ventrata does a rooting hormone have to be used?

I have made 50+ cuttings from my N. ventrata, maybe only lost 2 ever. They root very easily.
I have, and have not used rooting hormone.
