What kind? A ladybug is purty strong and have busted through some of my traps. That is when you pull the big guns like the Neps and Sarrs. Tee hee...Just to add to that not all bugs will fall victim to the vft. Bugs like flys, ants, crickets, and spiders work well.
Sometimes no matter what you do, the bug will escape. I wouldnt worry too much about it. VFTs do not "need" to be fed at all. They produce all the food they need through photosynthesis, just like any other plant. Bugs are simply a nutritional supplament.
