I have heard that out of all the different petiolaris species, D. paradoxa is the most likely exception to the "self sterile" nature of these plants. Try pollination using a small brush the next time it flowers: in nature there are many exceptions to the "rules", and if you dont try then it is certain that there will be no results. Experiment!
That is odd, as all that was said here goes with my knowledge.
