Interesting. Even as it's been you had to keep a sharp eye out for other bids if you were trying to scoop something up in the last minute. 'Should make for some hot last-minute bidding!
Or encourage people to just bid their final price and not play the snipe game. At least I won't have to be on the ready to shut the auction forum down at the strike of end time. So that takes a stress off of me.
Whatever simplifies the process for the people doing all the work is OK with me, especially if it can bring in some extra dollars for the cause.
However, I won a really nice S. alata couple years ago when a sniper was just a little late with his last-second bid. I was impressed that one of the auction overseers caught that - I didn't notice and assumed I had lost when I saw the higher bid the next day. If the new rule had been in effect then, I wouldn't have that plant now.
