New addition: Nepenthes mikei

Obtained from a CP dealer. Not the most spectacular species, but interesting in that the tendril is usually very short, causing the pitchers to be very close to the leaves:

Nice addition, but it seems smaller than what they normally offer. Most neps from there are normally more than two inches.
 
This is the only nep I've managed to kill. One of these days I may give it another go - I like their 'tidy' appearance.
 
If it is young then the tendrils can be very very small or completely non existent. Several species especially when grown from seed can have pitchers directly attached to the leaf/petiole. Then again I have not grown this plant so it may be a species thing.
