I have had fresh seed (I mean not collected more than 2 weeks ago, still light brown, soft) germinate in just over 1 week. Some ppl think the seed must be gone after 3 months of waiting, and they toss it. As Jeremiah has said, it can take reaaalllyy long to germinate. So just put it in a corner on a tray and forget about it.

Remember kids, a watched seed never germinates...especially if you think its beginning to grow mould.
