After one week their verdict is a N. maxima hybrid. I want to see what you guys think

That sounds right to me, although I'm not an expert or anything. I think there's a lot of question as to the parentage of many plants among the N. maxima hybrids, so that may be as close of a guess as you'll get, unless you can trace where it came from.

I take care of this plant. Its growing in my university greenhouse. I heard that it originally came from Lowes.

Could there be N. fusca in there? There appears to be a mild elongation of the pitchers; although, I've never grown N. maxima before, so I don't know it's habits.

I was thinking that there could be some N. fusca as well. Especially in the second plant. Those two may or may not be the same. I am working on getting that little one a bit bigger.
